What is a Postpartum Doula?
Postpartum doulas support families through their postpartum journeys. They provide evidenced based information on infant feeding, infant soothing, and basic newborn care. The postpartum doula also provides the mother and family with emotional and physical support. They are there to help the new family in those early weeks so you can ease into parenthood. Moms that have hired postpartum doulas, have less risk of discontinuing breastfeeding, less risk of having postpartum depression and anxiety, and recover from birth faster.
Whether it’s your first or 5th baby, adjusting to parenthood can be hard. Infant care is always changing and it’s our responsibility to keep up on all of the newest information.
